BIRDS!!

Last night as we were getting ready for bed and i opened the back door to see if the garage doors were shut. One of the doors has to be Manually close and as i got closer there were about four barn swallows that were sleeping on the door and they freaked out and started flying all over. It probably took marsh and I about 45 minutes to get them out.

Pony Express

Its that time again, time for the pony express. Every year there is a reenactment of the pony express that back in the 1860's to carry mail from St.Joseph, MO to Sacramento, CA on horse back. The Tripp's have been doing this for generations now.Marshael just received his 15 years patch.Something that he wants to carry on with our kids. This year we took the mail from Murray park in down town salt lake to Simpson springs out on the west desert. We were very lucky that the weather was good for us since everyone else had to deal with the rain and mud. Normally by the time the day is over they run a total of 4 miles, but this year marsh ran 12 miles total( due to lack of riders and a pregnant sister). You can read more about it at xphomestation.com
This is Marsh swearing in.

Waiting for the mail at Murray Park running about 5 hours behind due to weather.

Marsh and I and Tequila

Marsh on 5 mile pass

Marsh was so poud because it had tequila running about 30 mph.

Everyone hanging out out on the desert

Finally the mochila is to Simpson Springs( A job well done)

On the way home coming a crossed the west desert there was a herd of horses(about 125 horse)were on their way to get water when they split our truck. I wish i knew how to upload from my video camera so everyone could see it because it was the neatest thing i have seen. Here a couple of pictures that we took.

Memorial Weekend

For memorial weekend we went to our cabin in Kamas, UT. Its all was a great time when we go up there. It rain most the weekend so we were limited to what we could do. I wanted to go up the ponderosa pines where Marsh proposed to me but they had it close. We did a lot of riding around but finally on Monday the weather was just good enough that we thought we would try and go fishing up to Alexander Lake. There was still a lot of snow on the road so we drove as far as we could then had to hike an hour and a half in.It was so beautiful. I caught the first fish and my limit and i had to show the guys how to do it.LOL j/k I think i just had the honey hole. It was a great time.

Alexander Lake

Marsh trying to dry out his feet.( The hike in there was through a lot of snow and streams of run off so by the time we got up there our feet were soaked)

Mike and the one fish he caught

Bob with the bigger one of the two fish he caught

And YES marshael might have only caught one fish but it was the biggest

This is all the fish we took home not all that we caught

On the way in we had to drive over some snow, but when we cam out it had warmed up enough that it had softened it that we couldnt get over needless to say we got stuck.

Picnic at the Park

Yesterday my mom came down to salt lake because Johnnie had a doctors appointment and she had Gracey and Brooklyn and so i got to spend some time with them. It was for only a short time but we made the best of it. We went to the park and had a picnic and the girls play. It was so much fun.
